A glamorous and picturesque location
The photo shoot showcasing the Spring/Summer 2020 collection took place on a beautiful June day, in a stone villa in Île-de-Ré. A time for hard work, but also a friendly occasion, where a large team busied themselves finding the most effective staging and the best angles to highlight the fabric, cut and quality of items of lingerie.
This green and picturesque setting was not chosen by accident. The ambience of the location had to be fully in keeping with the world of Le Chat: charming, modern and an invitation to cocoon.
These qualities were present in abundance at this villa, with its shimmering garden and contemporary decor. Who wouldn’t want to lounge by the pool with a watermelon smoothie?
Ambience: spontaneity and living à la française
With French music playing in the background, the photographer tested the lighting while Alice, our young and freshly made-up model, struck a pose. A natural pose that showed off the elegant details of her outfit.
It took a few attempts to really capture the ‘made in France’ style and make sure the lingerie perfectly matched the time of day. Le Chat customers must be able to see or imagine themselves in these situations.
Accessories also play an important role in a photo shoot. These small items anchor the photo in everyday life, convey a certain atmosphere and help accentuate the lingerie.
The cup reminds you of gentle weekend mornings; the flowers add a soothing ambience; a book reminds you of a moment of relaxation; a spell by the pool reinforces the power of pretty clothes. Nothing is left to chance.
Why not take a break on the sofa?
We were still searching for a way to reflect the elegance à la française that is so important to Le Chat’s loyal customers, aiming to provide comfort, charm and quality all at the same time.
The team bustled around the beautiful model, who kept smiling, and made sure her outfit was still prominent. The hairdresser got up to put a strand of hair back in place – and voila! The room, the lighting, the pose and Alice’s charming pout – everything was perfect.
The atmosphere became calm. The clicking of the camera filled the room. It took dozens of attempts to get the beachwear shot right, while the babydoll shot was almost perfect first time.
The contrast of materials, the fall of the fabric, the elegant finish, but also the situation conveyed : there are so many aspects that must be considered for a catalogue that will wow customers.
Out for a walk in loungewear
If you’ve browsed the Spring/Summer 2019 catalogue, your eyes would have been drawn to the long dresses that can also be worn outdoors. The Romance bohemian dress or the Majorelle print dress could be worn, for example, for a weekend in the country or a stroll around the market. As for The Positano kaftan dress, it’s a beautiful cover-up to wear from the hotel to the beach.
These clothes, which can be worn both at home and for everyday leisure activities, will be a big part of the Le Chat Spring/Summer 2020 collection.
This photo shoot was a chance for a change of scenery and a walk on the streets of Île-de-Ré and the beach. The aim? To show you the trendy dresses, tunics and jackets you can also wear on everyday outings.
